The year 2020 is quickly approaching the design community, and designers, all around the world, have begun to eagerly gather their color and style predictions. Since the new year will bring new trends, color forecasts can help homeowners stay ahead of the curve and have the upmost stylish home. Today, we are going to take a look at our color predictions for 2020. Let’s get started!
While blacks, whites, and grays were popular in past years, we predict a shift towards charcoal. This bold yet neutral color demands attention while blending into its landscape. It is the perfect accent color for any space, but it can also be used as a primary color. Its versatility is uncanny, and we see it being a popular choice for 2020.
Behr Paint Color: Blackout – N510-7
Sherman William Color: SW 6258 – Tricorn Black
Benjamin Moore Color: Midnight Dream 2129-10
Although it is often underrated, green is the perfect color prediction for 2020. Its soft, earthy nature provides balance and freshness to the space. For 2020, we see more of a lean towards muted, powdery greens instead of the deep green hues we saw in years past. In fact, its soft nature will provide the space with a light and airy feel while adding a splash of color to any neutral design.
Behr Paint Color: Glass Tile – M400-2
Sherman William Color: SW 6743 – Mint Condition
Benjamin Moore Color: Reflection – 850
A couple of years ago, we saw growing popularity in pastels. For 2020, we believe that dusty blues will make their appearance. While similar to pastels, dusty colors are even less powerful and almost represent a neutral. Dusty blues are the perfect addition to any bathroom for added tranquility and beauty. They embody a soothing serenity and are, in our opinion, a must for 2020.
Behr Paint: Ice Mist – HDC-MD-23
Sherman William Color: SW 6778 – Aviary Blue
Benjamin Moore Color: Tear Drop Blue 2053-60
Hang with us on this one. In a color spectrum, you will find cool and warm tones. Typically, beige is classified as a warm tone, but we believe 2020 is the year for cool-tone beiges. This cozy yet fresh color creates a twist on classic beige. It is perfect for any space that you want to add a neutral that is anything but boring.
Behr Paint: Burnished Clay – PPU18-09
Sherwin Williams Color: SW 7634 – Pediment
Benjamin Moore Color: Desert Light 1004
Let’s be honest; whether it is eggshell, ivory, or pure, white is a staple to any design no matter what year it is. In 2020, we see a shift towards clean, sleek looks that can be captured by pure white.
Behr Paint: Ultra Pure White® – PR-W15
Sherwin Williams Color: SW 7005 – Pure White
Benjamin Moore Color: Pure White OC-64
