Color of the Year 2020
Did you know that every year has a “new” color of the year? A team of color experts explores the many realms of influential colors around the world. They then conclude what color will most influential in that following year. This year, 2019, was “Living Coral,” a bright and buoyant pinkish-orange that helped spruce up an environment. Many large companies use the announced color to put into their marketing campaigns and products. 2020’s color of the year was recently announced, and it is said to be “Classic Blue.”
Most children do not always have the same taste as their parents. That is why we can see very dramatic changes in styles and designs over the different generations. While this generation was very grounded with a hard contrast in neutrals like black and white, we are now seeing Generation Z influencing the design world. Generation Z loves their bright, bold colors! These colors can help make the environment feel more vibrant and creative. In a recent survey, it was discovered that Generation Z would rather have bright, bold yellows or oranges in their homes than neutral tones.
When it comes to neutral tones, we tend to look for colors that can agree with almost anything. They do not make an atmosphere feel too bold or too comforting, but rather have a very adaptable perception of an environment. Over the last years, we have seen black and white be critical components of the neutral color family; however, we are now seeing the return of beige. Beige is a great neutral color that also has some earthy tone influences. We predict to seeing more beige return to design in the year 2020.
